You can also view and manage clients on the iOS mobile app for quick updates on the go.

Progress Photos

Visual progress is one of the most motivating tools for clients. The Progress tab displays all submitted photos in chronological order.

Photo Carousel

Photos are organized in a carousel/gallery view:

  • Date Stamps - Each photo shows when it was taken
  • Multiple Angles - Front, side, and back views grouped together
  • Chronological Order - Oldest to newest (or reverse)
  • Full-Screen View - Click to enlarge and compare

Tip

Click and drag photos side-by-side to create before/after comparisons for your clients.

Photo Comparison

Use the comparison feature to show progress:

  1. Select a starting photo (e.g., Week 1)
  2. Select a current photo (e.g., Week 12)
  3. View them side-by-side
  4. Share the comparison with your client

Info

Sometimes the scale doesn't show progress, but photos will. Body recomposition (gaining muscle while losing fat) may not change weight significantly.

Weight Tracking

Weight data from check-ins is automatically plotted on an interactive chart.

Weight Chart Features

  • Trend Line - Shows overall direction (up, down, or stable)
  • Goal Weight Indicator - Visual target line
  • Date Range Selector - View 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, or all time
  • Hover Details - See exact weight and date for each point
  • Weekly Average - Smooths out daily fluctuations

Interpreting Weight Trends

Healthy Weight Loss

Look for:

  • 0.5-2 lbs per week loss
  • Consistent downward trend
  • Some fluctuation is normal
  • Photos showing muscle retention

Healthy Weight Gain (Muscle Building)

Look for:

  • 0.5-1 lb per week gain
  • Steady upward trend
  • Photos showing muscle definition
  • Strength increases in workouts

Plateau

If weight is stable for 3-4 weeks:

  • Check photos first (may be recomposition)
  • Review nutrition compliance
  • Consider adjusting calories
  • Evaluate training intensity

Warning

Rapid weight changes (more than 3 lbs/week) may indicate issues. Check with client about adherence, illness, or other factors.

Body Measurements

In addition to weight and photos, clients can track body measurements:

  • Chest
  • Waist
  • Hips
  • Arms (left and right)
  • Thighs (left and right)
  • Calves

Measurements provide objective data when weight and photos don't tell the full story.

Tip

Encourage clients to take measurements monthly rather than weekly. Changes happen gradually and too-frequent measuring can be discouraging.

Progress Timeline

The timeline view shows all progress milestones in chronological order:

  • Check-in submissions
  • Progress photos uploaded
  • Weight changes
  • Measurement updates
  • Plan changes
  • Goal adjustments

Adding Coach Notes

You can add notes to the Progress tab to document:

  • Observed changes
  • Why you made adjustments
  • Client feedback during calls
  • Important milestones
  • Challenges overcome

These notes help you track context over time and provide better long-term coaching.

Using Progress for Client Motivation

The Progress tab is a powerful motivation tool. Here's how to use it:

Weekly Check-Ins

Reference progress in your check-in responses:

  • "Your weight is down 3 lbs from last month!"
  • "Compare this week's photo to Week 1 - huge difference!"
  • "You've lost 2 inches from your waist since starting"

Mid-Program Reviews

Schedule calls or messages at 6-8 weeks to review:

  • Before/after photo comparisons
  • Total weight change
  • Measurement changes
  • Non-scale victories

Plateau Conversations

When progress stalls, use the data to:

  • Show overall trend (progress may still be happening)
  • Highlight non-scale victories
  • Identify patterns (e.g., weekends affecting weight)
  • Adjust strategy based on trends

Tip

Create milestone celebrations at 5%, 10%, and 15% body weight change. Acknowledge effort, not just results.

Identifying Problems Early

Progress tracking helps spot issues before they become major problems:

Red Flags to Watch

  • No Progress for 4+ Weeks - Time to adjust approach
  • Erratic Weight Patterns - May indicate inconsistent adherence
  • Photos Not Changing - Training or nutrition issue
  • Rapid Weight Loss - Too aggressive deficit
  • Missing Data - Client disengagement

When to Adjust

Use progress data to decide when to:

  • Increase or decrease calories
  • Change workout intensity
  • Add or remove cardio
  • Adjust macronutrient ratios
  • Schedule a strategy call

Best Practices

For Accurate Tracking

  • Have clients weigh at same time daily (morning, post-bathroom)
  • Take photos in same location, lighting, and time
  • Measure body parts at same landmarks
  • Track for at least 4 weeks before major changes
  • Consider menstrual cycle effects on weight (women)

For Client Communication

  • Celebrate all types of progress, not just scale weight
  • Show long-term trends, not day-to-day changes
  • Explain that plateaus are normal
  • Use photos to show progress when scale doesn't
  • Set realistic expectations (1-2 lbs/week)

For Data Management

  • Review progress tab before responding to check-ins
  • Add notes when you make plan adjustments
  • Compare current data to baseline regularly
  • Keep historical data (don't delete old photos)
  • Use data to inform future programming

Troubleshooting

Progress photos not showing?

Photos must be uploaded by the client through check-ins in the mobile app. They may need guidance on how to submit check-ins.

Weight chart empty?

Weight data comes from check-in submissions. If clients aren't including their weight when checking in, the chart won't populate.

Can't see old progress data?

All data is stored permanently unless manually deleted. Use the date range selector on charts to view historical data.
